Century Extrusions Ltd. on August 24, 2009, declared commercial production from its new 2700MT Aluminium Extrusion Press Line put up at their factory at Kharagpur. The expansion project has enhanced their installed capacity for manufacture of Aluminium Extrusions from current level of 7500MT per annum to 15000MT per annum.













The Company has put up the most modern and state-of-art extrusions manufacturing facility, which is comparable with the best in the world, at a capital investment of Rs.40.00 crores.

The Company recorded net sales turnover of Rs.99.00crores for the year 2008-09 and expects to achieve sales turnover of Rs.135.00crores in the current year and Rs.190.00crores in the next year.

Aluminium Extrusions have applications in varied fields such as Architectural, Rail & Road Transport, Automobile Components, Electrical Applications, Engineering Applications, Electronics & Electrical Gadgets, Defence Applications, Construction Equipment, and many more. The Aluminium Extrusions Industry in India is at an infant stage and the next few years are likely to see a high double digit growth.

The Indian extrusions industry is almost at the same stage where Chinese Extrusions Industry was, roughly a decade ago. In the past 7 years only, the Chinese Extrusions industry has grown 400%. The size of extrusions industry in India at present is 350,000 Metric Ton per annum, in comparison, the size of Chinese Extrusions industry exceeds 8,000,000 Metric Ton per annum, which shows huge potential for growth of the extrusions industry in India.

Anticipating growth in demand for products made of Aluminium, the primary metal producers in India namely NALCO, Hindalco & Vedanta Group combined would increase their capacity at 35% CAGR over next 4 years growing their present level of 1.34 Million Metric Ton in 2008-09 to 4.73 Million Metric Ton in 2012-13.

These two facts clearly indicate huge potential for growth of Aluminium Extrusions industry in India.

The Company has marketing offices at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Kanpur catering the needs of customers all over India.

The Company is a leading supplier of Aluminium Extrusions in the end-use segment where it has a very large number of customer-base, exceeding 400, which is company’s real strength.

In the year 2007-08, the Company diversified into manufacturing Power Transmission & Distribution Line Hardware, a part of which is value-added products of Aluminium Extrusions for catering to the growing demand of Power Sector.

The Company proposes to put up facilities to manufacture value-added products of extrusions such as Anodizing and Powder Coating facilities, door & window systems manufacturing facility, and facility for producing components / finished parts for auto, Solar Panel and engineering industries in future.
